Extensive research, travel to visit countless other facilities, and extensive knowledge of pet care allowed Dr. Pearce to create a state-of-the-art building that considers the health, comfort, safety, and well-being of every pet entrusted to A Crate Escape.

The second, or third time you bring your pet to A Crate Escape, you’ll start to see the excitement build before you even get into the parking lot. While some dogs have a little more anxiety than others, most dogs LOVE coming here to play with their Pet Care Coordinator and their furry friends so much that the excitement overwhelms them! The favorite part of what we do is the wiggle butt so common among our arriving guests!

Your pet will very quickly become part of the ACE Family and be loved on just like you love on them. We don’t lock your pet in a kennel with a bowl of water and kibble and walk away, here at ACE. Our Pet Care Directors and Kennel Technicians are dog people and LOVE their jobs. They will play with all of our guests as much as possible.

Our large, fenced play areas with built-in misting systems provide the perfect place for your furbaby, and our staff, to play and interact throughout the day. They’ll socialize, play, chase, run, and jump with their friends as much as they like, with fresh cool water available at all times. They’ll also get break times for napping, eating, or just chilling in our climate-controlled indoor kennels.

Dr. Chelsea Pearce, DVM

Veterinarian Owned and Operated

Having practiced emergency veterinary medicine for years, Dr. Pearce had seen countless cases of serious injuries to dogs that had been left home in crates their owners thought were safe, but turned out to be defective, or they came apart as the dog tried to escape. The dogs often became trapped or injured while their parents worked. She also saw cases where dogs were brought in with injuries from unsafe boarding situations while their parents were on vacations. Poor supervision, dangerous settings, and even abusive caretakers were just a few of the things that resulted in visits to Dr. Pearce in the ER.

After much thought, Dr. Pearce founded A Crate Escape with a vision to build a more comfortable, safer, higher quality pet boarding and daycare experience. Her unique perspective as a veterinarian allowed her to design an unmatched experience for pets, and pet parents, in the Austin, TX area.

Your pets are protected by our high turnover rate air handling system that removes hair, dander, and toxins from the air to prevent your dog from inhaling them and the built-in central disinfection system that destroys nasty dog illnesses like Parvo, kennel cough, and 99.9% of all pet-related viruses and bacteria.

Dr. Pearce created a unique and unparalleled setting, then set out to assemble and train what she believes is the best, most well-trained staff in the entire industry. Each and every person working in the building undergoes extensive training in dog handling and is required to become a Certified Dog Handler. They are trained in all aspects of care, health, safety, cleanliness, and how to make sure they have fun as well! In addition, they are given extensive training in recognizing medical issues at the first possible sign. Time is often very limited in emergency situations and pets need access to care as soon as possible. The staff is trained to recognize the signs and symptoms of both common, and lesser-known issues that require immediate medical attention. In many cases, care can be initiated almost immediately thanks to Dr. Pearce being on site.

Outside of work, Dr. Pearce enjoys time with her husband Phillip, their four children, and their English Cream Golden Retriever, Optimus.

Dr. Pearce obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and completed undergraduate work in biology at Texas Tech University.
